The whimsical and free falling designs and
patterns come alive to express the Navajo
Spirituality.
The West which represents our family growth and maturity.
The Abstraction stylization
is the source
of inspiration that comes
from a higher spirit.
The imagination is a gift
and a blessing,
we use this blessing as
we would sing a song
or say a prayer.

. The Four direction defines Navajo Philosophy,
the East, South, West and North. These Directions symbolize concepts of
Thinking, Colors, Seasons, Life , Elements,
and times of day, Stones and our Four Sacred
Mountains, which within this area we are
at peace within ourselves.
Anthony Chee Emerson has taken these concepts
and translated them to his art.

The East where all things begin represents the traditional
stylization where Family and life experiences
are interpret into Folk-Art painting with
intense colors. They often depict the times
of yesteryear as if seen through the eyes
of a child.
The South is the developmental stage of life. That
is where the contemporary
stylization comes
from.

The North is usually depicted as winter or old age.
In his early paintings Mr. Emerson showed
landscapes, portraits and wildlife. He has
returned to these roots to complete the four
directions of Art.
Anthony resides in Kirtland, New Mexico with
his wife, Michele, and their two children,
Zachary and Cheyanne. Zachary's interests are in math and
science, Cheyanne's interests are art softball and her friends. Anthony encourages them
both to
